The South Sheffield Evangelical Church (SSEC) was formed in 1981 by a group of Christians who believe in the importance of proclaiming the Good News about Jesus Christ. The purpose of the Church is summarized in the Mission Statement:

"To bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ through the gospel and to help them develop into committed disciples".
